49 days until Hellboy Day - The Lobster
The Lobster (Johnson). Who is he? Simple. Justice.
The Lobster is, to us, a legend and a myth. In reality he was, however, a living vigilante working to fight the rise of mob activity and crime. He gained his name from his signature: a claw mark left on his victim’s foreheads, which he seared in using a branding device on his palm.
As a child, Hellboy was absolutely obsessed with The Lobster, who had been serialized in a pulp style comic based around his image (although it was not particularly accurate to its real life counterpart). Hellboy would later go on to meet The Lobster’s ghost during the events of Conqueror Worm.
Despite his eventual involvement with the US government, The Lobster still remained a myth and a work of fiction to most people including the B.P.R.D. Johan Kraus, the ectoplasmic projection of a spirit medium (don’t worry, we’ll cover him later), would eventually get hijacked by the spirit of the Lobster who temporarily aided the B.P.R.D until his spirit was finally able to find peace. That peace, was the endless murder of Nazi soldiers.
Not much is known about The Lobster as a person. He keeps his identity an absolute secret and never takes off his mask. He works with several associates, has a secret base, and is very good at murder. Sometimes, too good.
